May 31 Someone's husband's running club was on television. Can you guess who?
June 1 The hardest thing about leaving for vacation is knowing that the dogs won't be coming with us.
June 2 We departed on our family vacation. I don't know why I find departure boards so fascinating, but the idea that all of these planes are going all over the world to so many different places just really grabs me, somehow.
June 3 It was a long day of travel, but we eventually wound up our first day of vacation with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi river. The sunset was gorgeous. I've got so many other pictures from this day--they'll likely wind up on my "rejected photos" gallery.
June 4 Victoria Falls was really incredible. It's impossible to get a sense of the scale of this waterfall. Just amazing.
June 5 We spent most of the day canoeing on the Zambezi river. I think that calls for a riverside selfie, don't you?
June 6 Our last day in Zimbabwe, and we saw a bunch of banded mongooses scampering across the lawn of a neighboring hotel. Incredible.
June 7 We met up with our family and toured Johannesburg and Soweto. I think the highlight of the day was our visit to the shanty town. It was very kind of the people who lived there to share how they live with us.
June 8 On to the Panorama Route. I managed to get a picture of my sister and my niece at the Blyde River Canyon.
June 9 Would you believe that we actually rode those elephants? More on that, later...
