My husband was out of town for work, so faced with a Saturday night by myself, I decided I'd watch a movie on Netflix. I opted for Bridegroom. It was really great, but boy, oh, boy, did it bum me out.
If you don't know about the film, it's basically the story of a young same-sex couple, and what happens to one of the partners, when the other one dies tragically.
A while ago, a you tube video surfaced about this horrible story. After the video went viral, a producer crowd sourced the funding to make a documentary about the story, and that's what I watched.
If you haven't yet seen the video, well, here it is. But be warned--it's pretty much heartbreaking.
So, I was home on a Saturday night, without my husband, and I watched the full documentary, alone (well, with the dogs) and I probably lost about a pint of fluid through my tear ducts.
It's worth watching. Just make sure you're prepared for the emotional devastation.
