On Sunday, we went to Dinosaur Barbeque in Park Slope, Brooklyn with Emily, and ordered the wings.
The last time the three of us got wings we got half of the hot, and half of the HOTTEST. The HOTTEST were really, really, really hot. So hot that it was hard to taste anything else for a while. So hot that I have to put HOTTEST in all caps.
So this time, we just got the hot (a flavor called Wango Tango), and the hotter (garlic chipotle) wings. From the picture, you can't really tell the difference, but there was a distinct flavor profile to the garlic chipotle. I don't know that they were actually that much spicier, but they definitely had a garlic flavor.
Our server told us that they had to stop putting the garlic chipotle sauce on the tables, because people were stealing them. I think it was good, but it wasn't really all that good. The Wango Tango has a pretty decent heat level--not so much that it makes your scalp sweat, but a nice tingle in your mouth just the same. But these are not buffalo wings--they're definitely barbeque sauce flavored. Which is fine, because they finish them off on the grill, so there's a definite smokey barbeque flavor.
The wings are super meaty, with bleu cheese on the side (which, as you may know, is my strong preference over ranch), and some stubby celery sticks. But no carrots. Wha?
