So, I think I mentioned in my last post (for my picture of the day, yesterday) that I have a lot of stuff going on at work. And it's starting to stress me out.
A few months ago, when I was in LA and really stressed out, I downloaded some meditation apps, but one of them was actually a hypnosis app. I thought--hey, I'll give this a shot. Since I was in LA, I was going to try to hypnotize myself using my iPhone for the first time on a transcontinental plane ride, but then I thought maybe that might not be a good idea. I had images of them calling the air marshall back to row 17, because some guy wearing headphones had started clucking like a chicken.
"Attention all passengers. We'll be making an emergency landing in Denver and an ambulance and four police vehicles will be meeting our plane..."
Anyway. I got home and tried it for the first time, and it really seemed to work. Only problem is that after listening to the recording several times, I felt like I needed something slightly different.
So, I've got a new iPhone hypnosis app. The guy's name is Joseph Clough, and his app has specific hypnosis tracks for everything from general relaxation to more specific problems. Those run the gamut--he's got tracks that will fix your erectile dysfunction, and other tracks to fix your premature ejaculation. Anorexia? ADHD? Check and check.
And, of course there's one track for losing weight, which I imagine I'll be purchasing, soon. Another is for anxiety, which I probably will need eventually. Oh! Hypnosis can cure my high blood pressure? I'm going to try that before I go in for my next check up!
I did one of the free tracks, and after a half-hour, I really did feel less stressed and more relaxed.
So, that's going to be one of my de-stressing items.
Also, while we're on the topic of improving my health, generally, I had a booze-free day, today. So, that'll either go to my daily count, or it'll be the first day of a week without booze. I'll check it off once that becomes more clear to me.
