Our friend, Anna, came to dinner last night, and brought treats from work for us to sample. Since Anna works at Dominique Ansel Bakery, one of those treats was a Cronut! An actual Cronut!
In case you're living under a rock, a Cronut is the pastry of the moment in New York City. It's essentially a hybrid of a donut and a croissant. Ours was filled with peanut butter cream. People line up at the Tony Orlando of Dawn to get their hands on one of these--they'll only sell two to a person--and the supply each morning runs out really, really quickly.
It was a really special surprise to get a cronut. But it was even more special since the Cronut concept was Anna's brainchild. So, that's my picture for the day! Sweet!
