Yesterday was the coldest day of the year. The high temperature didn't even hit 20 degrees. And we'd had a mammoth snowfall on top of it all.
Nevertheless, we dug ourselves out of the driveway, and drove to the opera. On the way into Lincoln Center, it was bitter, bitter cold, but the fountain in the plaza was running, just as it would have, had it been a balmy 70 degrees. It was sort of surreal, especially with the steam coming off the top of the display. So, that became my picture of the day.
