After placing our bets at the Mandalay Bay Sports Book, David and I decided to try to find somewhere nearby to watch the game. We wound up at Citizens Kitchen and Bar, and I noticed, pretty quickly, that there were wing on the menu.
So, even though I'm trying to lose weight, I thought, 'Well, how likely is it that I'll be in a position to eat wings here some time within the next 980 days?'
So, I got these wings, and boy was I glad I did. These wings are among the best I've ever tasted. Our server told us that it was because they used, "Popcorn Butter." And, from tasting the wings--I totally get that.
Basically, the sauce for traditional buffalo wings is a mixture of hot sauce (Frank's Red Hot is traditional) and butter. The spicier wings are heavier on the Frank's. The milder are more buttery. Of course, there are places that have a vast menu of flavors--Thai Firecracker Chili, Honey Sriracha, blah, blah, blah. But traditional wings are just Frank's and Butter.
So, I don't know what this "popcorn butter" is--I've never really thought about the fact that movie theatre popcorn butter has a different taste than butter that I melt from a stick in my microwave. But I have to tell you that I could taste the cineplex in these wings. And it was not a bad thing at all. Not at all.
