Admittedly, my picture of the day for today isn't the best photography I've ever mustered. And I had other pics today that might wind up in my "rejected daily photos gallery." But when my camera captured this moment...well...it was special.
Among other things we did today, David and I attended a bar mitzvah for David's cousin's son, who has autism. Ben doesn't speak, so he wasn't able to participate fully in the ceremony, but the "modified" bar mitzvah for him was really, really special. And a lot of fun, too.
The event was held at "WeeZee World" -- an indoor sensory play space in the former headquarters of Readers Digest Magazine, that's perfectly geared towards kids on the spectrum. It's also perfectly geared toward my very-much-fully-grown husband.
As we were leaving, David saw a rubber tire swing, suspended from the ceiling and decided that he should put his whole self into the middle of it.
Then this picture happened.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my picture of the day.
