So the challenges on my 101 Things list are competing with each other. On one hand, I'm trying to lose weight. On the other hand, I need to eat wings at thirty different restaurants.
Fine. So, I'm making progress on one front, even as I (maybe) lose on another. We'll know for sure tomorrow, when I do my weigh-in.
The wings at Double Windsor in Brooklyn, are really, really good. They're sriracha-honey wings, and they've got a really terrific balance between the sweet and the hot. Because the spicy part comes from sriracha, it's got that tangy kind of heat that's really nice.
I'm not exactly sure what the black sesame seeds add to the flavor, but they really make the wings beautiful. The scallions actually add a bit of sharp flavor that's nice, in my opinion.
They're served with a really, really creamy ranch dressing. My preference is bleu cheese. No carrots. No celery.
But, they're great wings.
